Peg Perego USA, Inc. ("Peg Perego"), in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administation
("NHTSA") is voluntarily recalling its Primo Viaggio infant car seats due to the potential noncompliance with Federal
Motor Vehicle Standard No.213. Peg Perego and NHTSA have received no reports of injuries from consumers.
Infant seats affected by the recall have a snap in the upholstery directly over the locking belt adjustment
mechanism. When the upholstery is attached by the snap to the cover of the adjustment mechanism, it may cause tension
in the upholstery due to the weight of the child, which may prevent the complete engagement of the adjustment mechanism.
As a result, some slippage on the harness restraints may occur.
Infant seats affected by the recall were sold separately with a base as the Primo Viaggio infant seat or bundled
with a stroller and sold as Pliko Travel System or Primo Viaggio Travel System. These infant seats were produced from June1,2001
to and including February 21, 2002.
Consumers will be sent instructions to service their Primo Viaggio directly from Peg Perego. Consumers must call the toll-free
number to obtain service instructions.
