Safety 1st, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product
Safety Commision (CPSC) is voluntarily recalling and providing
free replacement kits for items #615 and #15161 Cabinet
and Drawer Spring Latches that were manufactured from
1993-1999. It was determined that the old style spring
latch could break releasing a small metal spring that
might pose a hazard to children.
The revision to this product was implemented in January
2000 and the revised product can be identified by the
date code on the back of the blister card.

The manufacture date can appear in 1 of 2 ways...
A. On the upper right hand side of the back of
the latch package a code will appear...example 1991021
B. On the upper right hand side of the back of
the latch package a code will appear...example 000715

any package that has this format with a "9"
in the first position (left to right) is recalled.
