Burlington Coat Factory Joins the Comcast and United Ways of New Jersey to Provide Warmth for Thousands of New Jersey Residents in Need

“Bundle Up & Share the Warmth” Campaign Extended with New Partner, More Coats

Burlington, NJ, February 15, 2007 – Burlington Coat Factory today announced that it has teamed up with Comcast and its “Bundle Up & Share the Warmth” campaign, to help collect and distribute warm coats for New Jersey residents in need. Comcast kicked off the promotion on February 1, pledging to donate a new coat for every new Triple Play bundle order received in February, and to match up to 1,000 coat donations made by customers and employees through drop-boxes placed in 49 Comcast payment centers and offices and select Burlington Coat Factory locations throughout New Jersey.

“We were contacted about the promotion, and as a New Jersey-based company with deep ties to our communities, we immediately wanted to get involved and help further Comcast’s efforts,” said Wendy Siskind, vice president of marketing for Burlington Coat Factory.

Burlington Coat Factory will donate approximately half of the thousands of coats committed to the campaign, and will help expedite distribution to those most in need through United Ways of New Jersey and their designated charities. The company will provide coats in both children’s and adult sizes, and is further supporting the drive by placing co-branded drop-boxes in 12 locations throughout New Jersey, encouraging customers and employees to donate new or gently-worn coats.

From February 1 through February 28, Comcast will track all new bundle sales and a donation of coats will be made in early March in partnership with Burlington Coat Factory and United Way and its designated charities throughout the state. Based on bundle orders and coat drop-offs for just the first two week of February, the companies expect to donate thousands of coats.

“We are delighted that Burlington Coat Factory volunteered to join our efforts,” said Greg Arnold, regional senior vice president, Comcast Cable New Jersey. “Both of our companies have a deep heritage of serving New Jersey, and this partnership enables us to work together to give back to the communities in which we live and work.”

A major coat distribution effort will take place in early March, as Comcast and Burlington Coat Factory employees volunteer to distribute the coats to designated United Way charities across New Jersey. To assist with those in more immediate need, Comcast and Burlington Coat Factory are hoping to make an initial, early drop of coats this month. Comcast’s Triple Play bundle is available to new customers and includes Digital Cable with ON DEMAND, Comcast High Speed Internet and Comcast Digital Voice for $33 each per month for 12 months. Existing video customers can also sign up for Comcast High Speed Internet or Comcast Digital Voice for $33 per month for 12 months. Both Burlington Coat Factory and Comcast are active members of their New Jersey communities. Burlington Coat Factory participates annually in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night walk. Through its employees and customers nationwide, the Company has raised nearly $2.3 million dollars to date. In addition, Burlington Coat Factory offers free, community service programs such as Project Checkpoint™ (child passenger safety seat inspections) and Breakfast at Baby Depot to customers throughout the country.

Comcast Cable employs more than 4,650 people in New Jersey, and in early January announced that it will hire an additional 750 employees in 2007. Its New Jersey Region contributes more than $2 million annually through hundreds of local partnerships, grants and free wiring of more than 2,000 schools and libraries in New Jersey. Last year, more than 800 Comcast New Jersey employees and their friends and family members donated more than 4,000 hours of volunteer service through 18 projects throughout the state as part of its annual Comcast Cares Day volunteer service initiative.
