BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY JOINS FORSYTH COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT TO HELP KEEP CHILDREN SAFE IN THE CAR

Burlington, NJ – Burlington Coat Factory and the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department will partner to host a Car Seat Safety Inspection on December 14, 2002 from 10:00AM -2:00PM in Winston-Salem. In the parking lot of the Burlington Coat Factory store at 7770 Northpoint Boulevard, visitors can have child safety seats inspected by Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians for proper installation and operation.

Visitors at the Car Seat Safety Inspection can expect balloons and a visit from Spot the Dog, among other fun surprises. Special discounted pricing on child safety seats will also be available throughout the day.

In the US, motor vehicle crashes are the number one cause of death of children over the age of six months. The correct use of child car seats is one of the simplest and most effective methods available for protecting the lives of children in the event of a motor vehicle crash. The goal of this event is to give those traveling with children confidence to make the right choices in child car seats.

"With the start of the busy holiday travel season, this is the perfect time to take advantage of this invaluable service. In the event of an accident, the proper usage of a restraint system can make all the difference for a child", says Shannon Cavanaugh, Community Relations Coordinator for Burlington Coat Factory.
