BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY RAISES FUNDS FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST BLOOD-RELATED CANCERS

Burlington, NJ -Burlington Coat Factory representatives presented a check for over $22,000 to the Southern New Jersey / Shore Region Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society®. Earlier this year Burlington Coat Factory became the organization's first National Balloon Seller in conjunction with their Annual Light The Night Walk® campaign. The company was able to offer the donation as a result of fundraising efforts at its corporate headquarters and surrounding area stores. Bill Farnan, Chapter President, and Nanette Forte, Executive Vice-President of the local chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society were on hand to accept the donation.

Chris Pilla, Administrative Director of Human Resources at Burlington Coat Factory, who has been personally involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for several years, worked with local and national representatives to establish the partnership. "We are extremely proud to be a retail supporter of The Light The Night Walk campaign. The event was well received by our employees across the country; it's a fun night out that helps a great cause," says Pilla.

As part of its partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Burlington Coat Factory agreed to sell paper balloons in their stores nationwide in the period preceding the Light The Night Walk. Store teams, along with family members and friends joined their local Walks.
