| THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY® RECOGNIZES TOP FUND-RAISING CORPORATE PARTNERS AT LIGHT THE NIGHT ANNUAL MEETING |

White Plains, NY (December 6, 2004) - The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; has recognized six national corporate partners and one national friends and family team for being the highest fund raisers for its annual Light The Night® Walks, which took place this fall. The National partners, recognized at the annual Light The Night meeting in Las Vegas, were Burlington Coat Factory, CompUSA, Computer Associates, Cub Foods, GlaxoSmithKline/Corixa, and Verizon. Each company raised a minimum of $200,000 for Light The Night. Additionally, one national friends and family team, Allie’s Angels, was recognized for raising more than any other noncorporate team, with a total of about $420,000. In total, the seven recognized teams raised $1.8 million. Overall, Light The Night raised $23 million and counting for 2004, with approximately 175,000 walkers participating in 238 walking sites. “These partners have received special recognition because of their extraordinary contributions to the fund-raising effort,” said Dwayne Howell, President and CEO of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. “We appreciate their generosity and are grateful for their commitment to help make this year’s event the best yet.” About Light The Night: The Light The Night® Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening walk to raise awareness of blood cancers and funds for cures. Participants carry illuminated balloons to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer.
