BABY DEPOT AT BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY ANNOUNCES THE SAFE & SOUND® HOME CHILDPROOFING CONTEST

Burlington, NJ - The average home may not look like a dangerous place, but for an infant, the home is full of accidents waiting to happen. There are 10.4 million emergency room visits per year by children -- the result of in-home accidents. This is an especially troubling statistic considering that 9 out of 10 home accidents are preventable. Burlington Coat Factory is working with child safety experts, Future Care, LLC (Future Care) and Safe & Sound®, to promote child safety in and around the home. Together, they are launching the national "Safe and Sound Safety Contest."

Parents can enter the contest to win a complete childproofing package for their own home. Safe & Sound® safety experts will visit the Grand Prize winner's home, assess the site for safety concerns, and install safety products throughout. The Grand Prize is a childproofing package valued at approximately $2,100.00.

The Second Prize package includes items from Graco's Bergen collection: a Pack N' Play, Harmony High Chair, Open Top Swing, and Quattro Travel System. The Second Prize package is valued at $560.00.

"This contest is a great opportunity to promote the invaluable childproofing services that Safe & Sound® offers. Most families are probably not aware of the hidden dangers in their homes. Education and prevention is the key to eliminating unnecessary accidents," says Barbara Sosonka, Vice President of Burlington Coat Factory's Baby Depot department.

"Future Care, LLC is committed to developing partnerships that provide a win-win solution for the consumer. This is one such partnership. The prevention of childhood injuries is a primary focus for our organization. Educating parents and caregivers about the importance of creating a safer environment for their children at home and on the road, will help reduce the high rates of unintentional injuries," says Ian Swain, President of Future Care, LLC.

Entries and complete contest rules can be found here, and in Baby Depot and Burlington Coat Factory stores nationwide. The contest runs from August 1, 2004 through October 31, 2004. Winners will be notified by mail on or before November 26, 2004.
